Digital display and programming
guide for paper cutters
Microtrack,
part of the well-known family of Microcut® automation systems, was
specifically designed to increase the productivity and accuracy of manually
operated paper cutters. It does so by eliminating the time consuming,
error prone need for repetitious decision making, substituting in its
place the accuracy and reliability of computer control. In addition to
the above benefits, Microtrack is a cost-effective alternative to replacing
damaged glass scales and older metal position indicator bands.
Simple to install and operate, this cost effective, microprocessor based
unit can be added to any machine, regardless of brand or size. It features
Manual, Program and Automatic modes, with both visual and audible alerts
to inform the operator when the backgauge is properly positioned. The
operator can program the easy-to-read display for inches, centimeters
or millimeters.
In use, the operator selects the Program mode and proceeds to cut the first
lift of paper. While doing so, the system stores into memory the precise location
of each cut. Having completed cutting the first lift, the operator then switches
to the Automatic mode at which point the system, through use of up and down
arrows, guides him to the next cut location. When the correct position is reached,
an audible alarm is sounded and the display flashes, signaling the operator
it is O.K. to proceed. Up to 50 cut locations for any given job may be stored
in memory.
Microtrack can be installed on your present machine in a matter of hours,
with no special tools or skills, leaving the machine's existing controls
and safeties undisturbed. Power is supplied by a transformer which can
be plugged into any convenient wall outlet, eliminating the need for
costly wiring.
